Our guild’s annual fundraiser for the past 3 years has been the Tool For Teens Program. This program’s goal is to purchase additional tools and/or instructional materials for the industrial technology programs in the Lee’s Summit School District. However, above and beyond the scope of this program many members have made personal donations of money and/or equipment to the schools of their choice and those contributions have been greatly appreciated!
The students and staff of Lee’s Summit North High School wish to extend a huge THANK YOU to Dr. Dale Chapman for his very generous contributions to their shop. Last year the good doctor donated a Grizzly oscillating spindle sander and enough sanding disc to last several years. This week a new 8″ Powermatic jointer, purchased by Dr. Chapman, was delivered to the Material Processing Shop. These industrial technology students study and work with both wood and metalworking tools and equipment to construct and fabrication various projects. Cody Cantrell and Cameron Clover are the instructors. The new helical head jointer is replacing a 50-plus year-old jointer.
What a great example of generosity shown by Dr. Chapman to these students who someday too will Pay it Forward when they have the means and opportunity!
Thank You Dr. Chapman!!!!
