📅 A Look at Our Guild Meetings

Our guild meetings typically last about one hour and 45 minutes, starting promptly at 7:00 p.m. and concluding just before 9:00 p.m. (as the library closes at that time). Attendees usually begin gathering at 6:30 p.m. to socialize and grab a cup of coffee and a cookie or two.

Meeting Agenda:

• 7:00 p.m. – Guild Business (30–45 minutes): We begin the meeting with the business portion. This time is used for announcements, making or approving motions from guild leadership, and discussing any other issues the attendees wish to address openly.
• The Program/Guest Speaker (Up to 40 minutes): After guild business is concluded, we move into the main program. This usually features a guest speaker who talks on a woodworking-related topic. Thanks to Zoom, our speakers come from all over the country, ranging from famous YouTube personalities and local guild members to tool manufacturer professionals. While the guest speakers usually present at no cost to the guild, a nominal fee is occasionally paid for more high-profile presenters.
• Break & Socializing: At about the midway point, or often following the main presentation, we usually take a short break. This is a great opportunity to socialize.
• Show & Tell (The Grand Finale): We conclude the evening with the highly anticipated Show & Tell session. Guild attendees are encouraged to bring projects they’ve been working on to display and tell the group about them. It’s a fantastic way to showcase your talents, raise questions, and get feedback from fellow woodworkers.
