Outline:

Our guild meetings last about one hour and 45 minutes. We start promptly at 7:00 p.m. and end just before 9:00 p.m. due to the library closes at that time. People usually start gathering at 6:30 p.m. to socialize, look over what the other members have brought in for show and tell and have a cup of coffee and a cookie or two.  The first 30 to 45 minutes is usually used for guild business and can consist of announcements, making/approving motions from guild leadership, and any other issues the attendees wish to discuss openly.

After guild business is concluded, we conduct a time of show and tell. Guild attendees are allowed to bring projects they’ve worked on and tell the group about them. It’s a great way to showcase your talents, raise questions, as well as get feedback from fellow woodworkers.

At about the midway point of the meeting we usually take a break and use this time to socialize and view the show and tell items.  After the short break has concluded, we have a guest speaker that talks on a woodworking related topic. We usually allow about one hour or less for a presentation.  Thanks to Zoom our guest speakers are coming to us from all over the country and range from famous YouTube personalities, local guild members, to tool manufacturer professionals.   The guest speakers usually give their presentation at no cost to the guild, but the guild has paid a nominal fee for some of the more high-profile presenters.

This concludes the average meeting for the guild.
