Guild President Roy Wall welcomed everyone to the September 2025 meeting and reminded members that nominations are now open for all leadership positions. All guild members are eligible to nominate and vote. Elections will be held during the November meeting, and nominees must receive a simple majority to be selected.
Roy also announced that he will not be able to attend next months meeting and that Phil will be leading the meeting. He hopes to be back for the November meeting so he can be present for the leadership elections.
Dues Update: We are no longer collecting dues for the 2025 membership year. Dues for 2026 will begin in November and remain just $20 for the year. With the 10% discount available at many woodworking supply stores, it’s easy to see a quick return on your investment.

John Freeland shared a creative technique for using scrap wood to make small, one-of-a-kind boxes. He glues together small wood pieces into abstract panels, slices them into thin veneers, and cuts them into rectangles to form the lids of his boxes. 🎥 Watch the video here
🧠 Program: Shop Hacks and Scrap Savvy September

This month’s program featured a series of fascinating videos submitted by members, showcasing clever shop hacks and workflow improvements. One standout came from Rex Brown, who tackled a common frustration with drill presses: reaching behind the machine to adjust the table height. Rex solved this by installing a right-angle gearbox with flex couplers, relocating the crank handle to the front for easy access.
