Rex Brown and I recently visited the Frank Paxton Lumber Company to tour their operation and see what they currently offer the Lee’s Summit Wood Guild.
While their showroom has been closed since the pandemic, we received some encouraging updates from Brad Ham, the Kansas City General Manager. Brad estimates that the new showroom is on track to reopen between late March and April of this year.
Current Operations
Even before the showroom officially opens, Paxton is fully operational for orders:
- Inventory: They currently stock domestic hardwoods, sheet goods, and custom moldings.
- Ordering: All items can be ordered via phone or email with no minimum order requirements.
- Payment: They accept cash, checks, and credit cards. (Note: While there is currently no surcharge for credit cards, this may change in the future.)
We Need Your Input
As they “reconstitute” their inventory for the grand reopening, Brad has asked for the Guild’s help. They want to ensure they are stocking the right materials for local woodworkers.
Action Requested: Please locate the email from the Guild in your inbox and reply to the email with the specific exotic hardwoods you would like to see featured in the new showroom.
